Monday 19 September (i'm on a roll doing these today!)

Day 3 saw me having a bit of a lie-in, got up at 6am! DH wanted to sleep in so I let him sleep until 7am :teeth: We were meant to go to MGM today but as the first day of our schedule was thrown out the window and the parks weren't so busy we thought we'd just do what we felt like! I am putting my itinerary in our scrapbook though as a reminder of how well I planned for this holiday ;)

One of Phil's work colleagues was getting married that day and had invited us for a drink on Pleasure Island that evening with his family so we were looking forward to that. With this in mind we figured we'd go to Epcot as we figured that might be a more relaxing park (don't know why we thought this!).
Arriving at Epcot was almost as exciting as the Magic Kingdom, I loved the big golf ball! We were a tad bit late (we got side-tracked watching someone on Good Morning America, can't remember who!) so we missed the double-decker bus with the characters on it. We walked straight into the golf-ball/Spaceship Earth and rode that, it wasn't what I was expecting! I don't know why but I thought it would be like a museum/gallery. And it was nice and cool in there which was a relief as the weather was getting unbearably hot (did I mention before how hot it had been the previous two days?!!!). :sunny:

After Spaceship Earth we went straight to Soarin. We'd heard so much about this and we were lucky there were no queues for this either. It was just fantastic, took our breath away! We then had to queue for 15 minutes to ride the boat in the land pavilion because I think everyone thought the same as us: might as well ride this while we're in the building! Ironic the longest queue we ever had for anything was Living with the Land!

We popped next door into Journey into Imagination and rode that, its was ok, we quite enjoyed the stuff afterwards where you get to take your picture and email it to friends etc. We had our picture taken with Cinderella's castle as background (a bit tacky I know!) and got talked into buying the whole package including fridge magnet and keyring! How sad are we?! :earsgirl: What's worse is that later on I noticed that the top half of my hair was cut off, I look like Herman Munster's daughter…am not impressed with this. I didn't notice this of course until I got back to England so a bit late now to complain! Don't know why the guy cropped the photo like that but I can't display any of these now…my niece however found the magnet (she's 3 and loves fridge magnets) and now proudly displays this on her fridge at home (she doesn't mind her auntie looking like Frankenstein!!!).

After this we saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience which was great although the 10 minute long commercial beforehand was a bore. Waaaaaaaay too long…they would have been better off giving me a hand-held fan with their logo on it, I would have been more inclined to buy their product, after 10 minutes I distinctly remember having negative feelings about it and it obviously left no lasting impression as I can't even remember what it was for! I screamed pretty loudly during this show though! I laugh through most scary rides but the 3D ones really scare the heck out of me!

We got a bit peckish so as we were walking over to the other side we stopped and had a large cold drink and a pepperoni pizza which we shared. It was quite delicious so we shared another one ;) We then went to Test Track. Again, no queues, it was fab! DH loved this ride and loved sitting in the big cars outside the ride.

Next came Mission to Mars. I was a bit worried about this ride because I tend to get quite claustrophobic but I really wanted to try this so I thought I'd have a look at the capsule and if it felt too small for me I'd walk away. No queues again so straight on after the blurb by 'Lieutenant Dan'. Well, I totally loved the ride, it was great! I wouldn't have even known I was pulling 3G's except my face cheeks were pulled quite back J I enjoyed every second of it, laughed through it. When we got off I turned to my husband and said 'I want to go again' and he looked so pale, I thought he was going to be sick! :worried: Needless to say, he did NOT enjoy the ride, he was totally disorientated and felt sick. His pupils were like pinpricks, I was quite worried! I sat him down and it took him 20 minutes before he could get up and walk again. He didn't feel up to doing Ellen's Energy Adventure so we left that for next time.

I drove us home and he had a nice nap but still felt very dizzy in the evening so we didn't make it to Pleasure Island to see his colleague, we were both gutted but in the end his colleague was so tired from the wedding and the festivities afterwards that he didn't make it there either so we felt a bit better about that!

DH felt better in the evening, had a nice swim in the pool, back to normal. Obviously space travel does not agree with him so next time i'll be flying the flag for England alone :wave2:

Oh Frankenstein, sorry Eloise, what a great report, I laughed when I read about your photo and your head being cut off a bit, :rotfl: :rotfl:

I reckon we've done Mission:Space at least a dozen times now, but for some strange reason I haven't enjoyed the last few times either, and I feel like a sit down for a bit too - at least you managed to try it at least once.

Keep up the great reports

Mandy :)

great report, its a kodak commercial( before honey i shrunk the audiance). i really like it it makes me laugh every time :confused3
sorry to hear your itinerary bit the dust :rotfl2:

Well at least the trip schedule is laminated for history :teeth:
Great day and by the sounds of things another Soarin convertee :)

Sorry but :rotfl: at Epcot being a nice, easy park. I find it one of the most tiring - but then, I notice you only did Future World. I hope you re-visited to do World Showcase later on. Or was that not in your itinerary ;) :rotfl2:

Excellent report Eloise - I'm really enjoying them. It's so nice to read a report from a first-timer (obviously, now I've been twice, I consider myself an old hand :rotfl2: )

My DF Loved the Hummers after TT aswell!

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

I wasn't impressed with Mission Space ~ couldn't see what all of the fuss was about it

Enjoyable report glad to hear your Dh recovered from MS. It's not something I would ride it makes me queasy thinking about it.

As I sit here reading your reports, i think about how much work I have been putting into possible itineraries for next October and know mine will go the same way as yours :rotfl: Have really enjoyed the reports so far, really felt for you over the credit card thing and sorry that Mission Space ruined the rest of your day. I felt dizzy for about 30 minutes so it looks like I got off quite lightly!
Will look out for day 4,
Claire xx

Really enjoying your trip reports, Eloise. I haven't been brave enough to try Mission: Space so well done you guys for giving it a go. Our itineries often go astray too, but I have so much fun preparing for and thinking about the trip beforehand that I don't mind!
