How far out can you book? I called AAA and they said they couldnt do next march 3/14 yet.

What I know is about users/guests like you and me and not travel agents.

Online booking for 2014 is not permitted yet until 2014 rates have been set (sometime this summer).

You can call on the phone and make a reservation for 2014. They won't have the new rates yet either; but you will be charged one night's deposit at the 2013 rates. Once the rates are set, your reservation will convert to 2014 rates and that will determine the balance you owe. (The confirmation of your ressie will say all this in fine print).

The travel agent take on this MIGHT be the same but I'm not a TA.

Seems to me I remember talking about this topic though, somewhere...

So to book for Christmas 2014 its actually about September 2013? I was thinking a year out ...

I called Disney myself for AAA rates for next May. The reservation agent I spoke to told me the discounted AAA rates would come out the same day as the 2014 rates. She said normally sometime in June. So I went ahead and made my reservation for May of 2014 and then I was going to call back in June and see if there were any discounts available during my stay. . . . .

Yes you can make it that early (whenever you hit the 500 day window as Denise says). Of course by that time as I said it should be available to book online

Keri, that is absolutely true. Whenever Disney sets the rates for the next year, AAA are available immediately. And like you I made a ressie for one year in the prior year. I made the plain ressie and then waited until about two months before arrival to inquire about an AAA discount which I got.

So I hope you get a discount. Saving money at Disney feels REAL good. :cool1:

Three weeks ago I called to book a cabin for over Halloween. Asked for the AAA discount and was told they were not available yet to call back in June and a AAA rate should be available by then.
I thought that was weird. I will call back maybe sooner than that....

betmust,

I agree - that doesn't sound right. You might have gotten a CM who either didn't know how to check for a discount or there were none and she didn't want to tell you that. AAA discounts are already published through year end. So keep trying. I got my discount only a month before arrival (after having made the ressie six months prior).

Thanks. Last year I booked in June for Halloween and got a AAA discount no problem so i am thinking that there should be some left. I was told before that they are only allowed to have so many cabins discounted. Not sure if thats true. If there are none, I will just wait for the next code to come out and hopefully use that for a bigger discount. I have been going to the cabins for Halloween for years and always get the AAA discount.
I will call back soon and see what they say.

Called back today and the CM gave me my AAA discount without any hesitation.
Very happy. Now to hope for a code for when I am there to give me an even bigger discount.....
