Booking your holiday - complications?

So, in July I booked my vacation package through Disney's website. When I made the original booking, I had my current address listed for billing, however I moved at the beginning of August and I had made sure to update my address so that it could be sent.

My package was supposed to arrive approx 21 days however when it didn't come, I started to get a little anxious because last time in June when I had ordered my package, it came right away with 0 problems.

I called a Disney travel rep because I just wanted to make sure that my package was being sent to my NEW updated address. Good thing I called, it had been sent to my old address. The rep was really great and tried to figure things out but in the end she said that since I didn't have any air or ground transportation included in my package, the easiest thing to do was for UPS to send it back to DL and then send it to my hotel. Needless to say, I was bummed :sad2: because lets face it - opening the package is half the excitement and it just makes you feel that much closer to your vacation.

Anyways, I thanked the rep and left it at that. About five minutes later I get a call back from a new rep saying that the package was NOT being sent back to DL but was going to get re-shipped to my new house. :headache: That made me happy and seemed fine and dandy but it all seems like somewhat of a big confusion.

Now I'm wondering and hoping that my package does not get lost and that everything has been alllll sorted out!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:


I'm sure that many of you have made some sort of phone or online reservation for many different things so I'm wondering:

Have any of you ever had any sort of complications and if so - how were they fixed?

I haven't had problems like that (though I left our packet at a Radio Shack on the start of our driving trip from WA to CA, and although it was still there when we got back, I think I'm *still* experiencing that adrenaline rush and it was a year ago!), but I think it's good they are re-shipping.

Why? Because the hotel voucher states that you MUST have the voucher in order to check in. So I don't know that leaving it at the hotel would have worked at all.

Try to get a tracking number in a day or two, if you can. They tend to just have the delivery driver call on the day they are delivering, and they are VERY vague. OUr driver called and said that he would be there in x number of hours, so we got ready to go do our day-off business, and on our way out the door, he was there!!! If we'd been out in accordance with what he said, it woudln't have been delivered.

So either be home, or try to get that tracking so you know when it's getting close.
 
We ordered our package through Costco. When the ticket package and all the little included goodies didn't show up 3 weeks before, I got nervous, like you, and called at about 19 days pre-trip. It turns out I hadn't paid my deposit by the one-month cutoff! :scared1: The weird thing was, I had given my credit card number when I booked, and somehow got the impression that they would bill it on that date; but no, I was supposed to call and tell them to go ahead and bill the card! :confused3 I swear they did NOT tell me I had to call and give the ok to bill the credit card. What really bothered me, was that when I didn't, they didn't send an e-mail or a phone call saying, "Hey, your deposit is due."

Anyway, it was no problem, they were able to run the credit card then and there was no penalties or loss of reservation, thankfully. Nearly gave me a heart attack, though. I got the pixie-dusty package about 4 days later. :wizard: All's well that ends well!

I'm sure yours will be fine. They're pretty good about customer service and making things right, if they mess up. Good luck! :goodvibes
