Booking w/ Travel Agent vs. Disney..please help!

For those who have booked ABD trips, have you gone through a Travel Agent or directly through Disney? We are trying to figure out which route to go and why one would choose one route or the other.

We booked through AAA Travel because they had a special at the time and also booked our flights. Next ABD trip I think I will book directly through Disney, since our paperwork and travel cd all got sent to AAA instead of directly to our home.

We booked through Costco Travel and received a Costco Gift Card of $700 per each Room reserved. I believe the amount of Gift card is dependent on the amount of monies spent on the ABD trip. You also receive any other promotions being offered directly by ABD. The way this worked for us was that we called Costco Travel and let them know we wanted to book an ABD trip. They connected us directly with an ABD person who set us up. All correspondence (verbal and written) after the initial call was directly with ABD.

We will definitely consider Dreams Unlimited. I went with AAA because they were local, but it probably doesn't matter in the scheme of things.

If you book through Dreams Unlimited, do you still get the guarantee on the flights? ie: if the trip gets cancelled or changed in some way, is the cost of the change covered?
I have always booked directly though ABD, but now I realize I may have missed out on some significant savings.

ABD will assist with airfare changes if the air is booked through ABD.

This is easily done and would still allow you the choice of airline, schedule, connection etc.
