Booking VGT category on DVC points

Hello, all!

Does anyone know if it is possible to book a VGT category rate on DCL with DVC points? Have any of you done it? If so, how does it work (since it is not listed on the points chart)?

The VGT (and IGT and OGT) rates on DCL are last minute, restricted rates DCL offers past the paid in full date when they need to get cabins booked up.

DVC points for cruises stay as they are from the day the point charts are released. Point requirements do not go down (or up) as the cruise draws near. If you want to take advantage of the cheaper VGT rates, you are better off paying the cruise with cash instead of points.

VGT rates and the other GT rates are cash only. DVC point rates are set up once per year. Only once in my memory did they have a point fare sale and it was for a group of sailing during a prior downturn in the economy.
