We are traveling as a party of 7 (family of four and family of three). When I went to make an ADR for a party of seven, it told me no tables were available. Yet, if I searched for a table for 4 and another table for 3, tables WERE available. Am I able to make two ADRS for the same time and place?

Just put each reservation under a different name, or it might get cancelled (since they will think you have double-booked). When you check in, tell them you are together, and they might be able to seat you at least close to each other, if not at the same table.

If you call, you can make two reservations - they will link them in the system.

(We ran into the same trouble with a table for 9)

Not sure what you mean by "they will link them in the system" because ultimately the seating arrangement is determined at the restaurant when you check in. There is no way the CM on the phone can guarantee that you'll all be seated together or even near each other.

To the OP: You can make 2 separate reservations, but you will have to put the second one in a different person's name and phone number. And as a PP said, when you check in at the podium, let the CMs know that you would like to be seated together and they will do their best, but there's no guarantee. It depends on how busy the restaurant is, which tables turn over, how many other large groups are waiting ahead of you.
