Booking two rooms requires two names?

I made my first reservation & reserved 2 studios under my name. My parents will be traveling with us. We are sharing a room at OKW for 2 out if the 7 nights. I called MS to adjust the dates & was told I could not have two rooms reserved under my name. I really did not want to put a reservation under my parents name, I thought I could just list them as being in the room. We are not on the dining plan.

Also I requested our rooms to be near each other. Worried about this because our last trip at CSR we ended up in different buildings. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again?

Because of the way everything is tied to MDE Profiles for MyMagic+, the same person can't be listed on two room reservations for the same dates.

Don't know why you don't want to put the reservation in their names. Having multiple reservations in your name for the same dates will cause more harm than good with MyMagic+.

Just make sure that MS has a 'Travel With' on both reservations. This is what alerts the room assigner to try and place the rooms as near to each other as possible.

Is it "can't be listed" or "can't be the lead name" on the reservation. I have been told both by MS.

You can make reservations for two rooms with your name as the lead. I have that currently with reservations in January; both were done online. I have done that numerous times in the past both online and via calling MS before there was an online system. Note, on more than one occassion I got an MS person who told me I could not make two reservations for the same times in my name. I informed them I had done it before and they gave in and allowed it.

I don't know if the MDE system will be an issue because this will be the first time I will need to link two ressies to MDE (all possible guests are in the family and friends list already). I have not done that yet because it is unnecessary to do it yet and by the time I will do it I will know exactly who is going to be in each room and can make modifications to the ressies then if it is a real issue. Nevertheless, you can do the two room reservations through the DVC system.

I needed to add my sister and B.I.L. who are not in our room to our reservation so they can have access to our room to help my Mom out (who is staying in our room). I created 2 more profiles on MDE that I manage using their middle names. (It doesn't ask for address and you don't have to give an email if you control manage yourself). I then called member services and gave them their middle names and last names to add to my reservation (we have availability in the room for 2 more people, so no problem adding them). They did not ask for address or email or anything else when I called and only wanted to know if they were over 18 years old. Then I linked the middle name profiles to my reservation so they will get magic bands for the room mailed to me. In customizing these magic bands I chose yellow (proceed with caution) and customized the MB with their middle names so they will remember that these magic bands are room keys only for the room Mom is in. After our trip I will delete their middle name profiles and we can discard the magic bands to avoid future confusion. We aren't linking any tickets or other reservations to these particular bands.

You won't be able to delete those profiles because they will have MagicBands linked to them. You can deactivate the MagicBands, but you can't remove them from a MDE profile.

Oh well, that's ok. We might need to do it again someday. I didn't think of that, though, thanks.

I made 4 room ressies in NOV for this OCT trip at BWV . I did it on line and used my name for all. No problems. I called 2 wks ago to add a night to one ressie. At that time the CM sees my ressies and tells me I can't be listed on all. I tell the CM that the DVC site allows this and that's what I did. I did call to put names on anyway but somehow my sisters husband 's name never made it. Her room has her and me listed and the husband isn't on any room. I told the DVC lets us do it and she (CM) says that they shouldn't do that. OH well!

MS told me that the resort will cancel out one if the reservations if they see me twice. I was thinking it would just be easier for me to take care if managing reservations & check ins.

I know that DVC and the " regular" reservation line are two different systems but Disney really has to address this. There are continual communication problems and errors due to the systems not being fluent
