Booking two rooms on pin code, what if pinholder has to cancel?

My parents would like to send my 40th bday with me at AKL, but my dad has been laid off alot this year and has to work when work is available. If we book two rooms and he ends up having work, what happens if thy cancel? The pin is in his name. ( he is semi-retired, but working allows them to do more when there is no work) Would my hubby and i lose the discount?

That would be my guess. booking rooms with someone else's discount always makes me a bit nervous because my understanding is that if that person cancels or can't show up for check in, that you'd revert back to rack rate.

If the PIN holder cancels, the discount is lost. The PIN discounts are VERY restricted to prevent abuse.
