Has anyone here done the Halloween party at DL on the actual night? It works out for us that we are there right over the end of October, so we figured we might as well go to the party on actual Halloween night, but now I'm worried about getting tickets!

I've been looking on mousesavers and they say there are no advance tickets for the 31st (and a bunch of other dates), so we are just going to have to line up on the day and hope we get in???? I'll feel really un-organised if I don't have tickets before we go!

I haven't heard that one before. How frustrating. I would want tickets in advance also.

Are you sure then that you wouldn't prefer to go on a quieter night? I've read that the queues on actual Halloween night can be pretty horrific. Perhaps not so bad if you've been to a Halloween Party before, but if the experience is new to you, I would opt for a mid week party on an insignificant night.

We were originally going on a different night, but we had to split our Anaheim days up so we could get to San Diego on a weekend for Legoland's waterpark. Halloween night is our last night in Anaheim before we head to Hawaii, so we are confident we will have done pretty much all our must do rides/shows by then and this is more for the full on Halloween vibe and atmosphere than rides. But I understand why you mentioned it - DH and I have been watching YouTube videos of the Halloween party and it is sooooo busy!

You can buy the tickets for the 31st on the same day that the rest of the party dates go on sale, there is just no discount advance tickets. For the party on the 31st the ticket price is the same no matter when you buy them, for less popular nights they offer a minimal discount for buying in advance.

Thank you! That's exactly what I wanted to hear! It was making me very antsy thinking we had to wait til we got there for tickets. Is there any other websites that have more info on the Halloween party? I'm still finding my way around here, so searches are hit and miss at the moment, but maybe I'm missing some important info....

There's a Halloween thread on the DL area that has lots of information as well as links to last years thread with lots more information and peoples pov's -http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3270919

I haven't done DL but we did wdw last year on Halloween night and got our tickets online on May 2nd when they were released with no issues what's so ever.. Bit pricey but it was SO much fun, I can't wait to get back there next year and hopefully do both parties! :)

We will be in Disneyland this year for Halloween too :yay:

Any idea when tickets go on sale? and will I have to get up at the crack of dawn on sale dale to secure tickets?

We are probably thinking of going either tues 7/10 or fri 10/10 - I'm thinking the Tuesday would be quieter

Thank you teddykins! I haven't ventured out of the Australian board much, it's a bit scary out there! Lol It's like they speak another language with all the abbreviations and what not :P

If you book the Happy Haunts tour you can get the AAA discount if you are an automobile club member out here (NRMA, RACQ, etc) the tour with the discount isn't much more than the party ticket on the website. For a crowded night (actually any night) the tour makes a HUGE difference. Tickets go on sale before the tours do. Last year I purchased a ticket and then called to book the tour when it opened up and they refunded the ticket and then booked the tour, it took quite a long phone call and lots of time on hold, but they did manage it. I think calling from Australia helped.

Interesting cola. I have looked at this tour a few times as an option for the Sunday of Gay Days. Did you feel like it was worth the money? How many rides did they take you on?

You're welcome! It is a bit scary, I felt the same way when I joined last year but once you've roamed the boards a bit, read some more, asked lots of questions you'll get the hang of it in no time. There is a thread that has all of the abbreviations written down for DL if you wanted to check it out, the thread is here. There's also a link to the WDW list in there as well :)

Don't be afraid to ask questions because there's no such thing as a stupid question and the folks around here have been to the Disney parks and the US lots of times so are very very helpful! Enjoy planning your trip, Halloween at Disney is SO much fun :thumbsup2

Tower of Terror, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion. I think that was all? The queues for Haunted Mansion were crazy every time I was in the park, just getting to jump that queue was worth the tour. I did the 4:15pm one, didn't use a park ticket that day, just turned up at 4pm. Doing the tour meant I was also able to queue jump the park entry then too. The tour went over to DCA first, then back to DL, finished 7ish which was actually pretty hellish as they were still trying to get all the non-party goers out. Lots of story telling, some snacks at various points, and access to some things that you wouldn't get to normally. Also got a fancy pin, sugar cookie, water...

I'd do it again if I wanted to go to the party again. With the AAA discount I think it was only about $20 more than the party ticket by itself?

Thanks Cola. There is no party on during the nights we are there. So I would be doing the tour instead of a party (and also to avoid some of the crowds on Gay Days). This of course is assuming it's offered on that day.
The alternative is to do the Fantasmic Dessert Package. I'm pretty sure I couldn't afford to do both.
What would you suggest?
