Does anyone have any experience of doing this for May half term? The tickets are supposed to be available from next week but I've just had a look at the prices to Lille and they're already mega expensive. Is the full journey to DLP priced differently or am I looking at these prices plus the cost of the TgV?

I'm really starting to stress about this now. Everything is booked except travel but if the train is too expensive I don't know what we'll do!

Don't worry about the cost of the Lille prices - they have no bearing on what you'll pay through Eurostar (I did the same as you and totally panicked when looking at the Lille prices before my indirect fares came out at 90 days). Honestly, just wait for the return price to become available through Eurostar :).

Really?? That's so good to hear!!

That' the other thing though...as I have to wait 5 days for the return tickets to be released I'm worried the outbound prices will go up a lot before I can book them. Wondering if I should book two lots of on way trips even if I have to pay a bit more for the single fares?

wait for the return (you obviously think along the same lines as me ;)) - because Eurostar UK can't sell you the indirect single fare from DLP to the UK, as it starts with a TGV journey. They can sell you a return indirect no problem.

If you go the single indirect outbound route through Eurostar, and don't book the inbound indirect at the same time, you'll have to book the inbound indirect through Eurostar France, or sncf (and I believe sncf are more expensive anyway). I know this because thats exactly what I was considering, but as it was my first Eurostar booking, I phoned Eurostar first to ask them about the indirects bought individually. Apparently Eurostar UK haven't been able to sell any single indirect fare from France to the UK for a couple of years now.
