Booking The Beak & Barrel Aug. 20th at 7pm EST!!

I waited patiently after logging in and getting the Thunder page at 6:50pm - finally got notice it was my turn and got into the system at 7:29pm. Went to my intended day, 9/20 - it showed me 5 times - as I clicked on each time, it said 'sorry that time is no longer available'. Every time said that. Went back to the selection page, and it showed no availability on all but one date (not mine). Then tried again and it showed 9 times available...but when I clicked on each, they all said no longer available. 4th try, everything booked again. Refreshed over and over again, and still all gone.

I could scream! Finally got through after half an hour of queueing....... filled out all my info, then this first error happened. A few refreshes and it fixed. Only to then give me Donald error screen. How can a company as big as Disney not know if my booking went through?
Pressing back just gives blank screen too, so SOL!

I would have felt less peeved if I just got no availability. What was more frustrating is that it showed me times when I first got in, but as I clicked on them, they weren't available anymore. I've never had that happen in the dining system - if it shows you times, you usually have a few minutes to lock it down and book it.

Set a dining alert! Since it was possible to make more than one reservation there could be cancellations. Or sudden availability drops like Geo-82 sees.
Yes yes yes I cannot stress this enough, set up alerts. People are going to be dropping those ADRs, more may get loaded, etc. Newer places always seem to get ADRs dumped into the system in batches during the first couple of months (I guess as they figure out capacity with staffing etc) and if you have alerts set up you’ll be able to take advantage. I never would have gotten Geo-82 otherwise.

For those wanting to book during the Halloween party, they seem to have a lot of availability except for right between 4 and 6 (at least the two nights I looked at). They even have some late reservations, looks like the last one is at 11:45 on party nights. Kinda tempted to book that for our party night to enjoy some drinks while waiting for the bus lines to die down.
A late night reservation would be a great way to end the party.

I was hoping to get a reservation during the mix in before MNSSHP but those times were really limited. It seems like they were only taking "lunch" bookings until 4:25p and then nothing again until the official party start at 7p.

The website did say it would hold my reservation for 9 minutes once I clicked a time, the 9 minute timer refreshed in the checkout page so that's probably what the availability changes are. Keep checking once you get in but don't drive yourself crazy over it. My guess is they'll drop some more availability or people will let go of some of their bookings after the dust settles in a few days.

This may be the rare time solos are at an advantage because I see sporadic availability for 1 in Sept where 2 or more are all sold out.

What a complete disaster. There goes an hour of my life to deal with horrible Disney webpages, and end up with no reservation. Once I finally got into the queue, several of my dates had reservations available. But every time that I clicked on one, it said sorry, that time is no longer available. Then when I finally got to one that exists, it told me that I had a conflicting reservation and asked which one I wanted to keep. Selected B&B, then it asked for my password (I was already logged in), and then said that it was timed out.

F-

Captain Blindingly Obvious says that things would have gone much smoother if they had opened up ADRs 70 days before B&B opens. In grand Disney IT style, they went out of their way to ensure that it was a complete techo disaster. Why do I keep trying to give these guys $ when they never learn?

That's what I was hoping for as well. Times before 4 and after 7 really don't work with my plans anyway, so I'm not too terribly disappointed that I didn't get one. 9/7 is our regular MK day. We're already doing Crystal Palace breakfast and have some other things planned (make a tiara for DD, Gaston's for lunch) and we will be out of the park by 4ish. So I could have fit it in there somewhere but it wouldn't have been ideal. 9/9 is our party night. That's where I really was hoping to get Beak and Barrel but I do not want to waste an hour of my party time on it. We will just do it next time when maybe it fits better into our plans.

Yeah, the times between 4 and 6-ish went FAST. I was able to grab a 5:45 on our party night, and they still had a 4:15, 4:30, 6:00, and 6:15 available, but right after booking I went to check again and they were all gone. At that point they still had plenty of times before 4 and after 6:30.

I was even flexible enough to take ANY time - I wanted 4-6pm, but I tried the noon, 2, 3pm etc - all kept saying unavailable when clicking on them.

I know it's a 'thing' for many on these forums, but the folks just booking many different reservations intending to keep only 1 is one of the things I really dislike about modern day Disney - DVC folks who 'walk' reservations constantly, multiple dining ressies with no intention of keeping...all makes me long for the days when you went to the park, called or used the video phone and booked a reservation for that evening - no advanced anything!

That was crazy. Finally got through. Every time I clicked available time it was already taken. DW walks up and opens browser. Refreshes a few times and she gets in. We had to keep trying so many times. It would show no availability at all for all days. Suddenly it would show some. Gain go to book and gone. Went round and round, finally able to get Oct 3 ant 11pm.

We spent 5-10 more minutes checking for a better time. At long last it showed all dates available and we were able to get Oct 3 at 6:40. Cancelled out 11 pm.

Good luck everyone. This has more ups and downs than Tower of Terror.
