Booking sunrise safari, does that go through MS?

We are DVC members who are using another member's points for an AKV Concierge stay in May (assumed we wouldn't be able to get it at 7 months with our BWV points). We'd love to do the sunrise safari, but I have no clue how to get that booked. Does that go through MS, or should I be getting in touch with the AKV concierge staff? How far out can you book the safari?

Thanks!

You book the Sunrise Safari directly with the AKL/AKV Concierge staff up to 180 days in advance. It usually sells out so I would suggest booking it at soon as you know which day you want to go. I think it's offered on Sunday and Thursday mornings.

You can call them but I've had better luck using email: animal.kingdom.lodge.itinerary.planning@disneyworld.com

Include your reservation number (and let them know it's a DVC reservation so they know where to look for it) and your phone number in your email message.

Actually the 180 days has now officially been changed to 90 days - the same as dining reservations. I received an email from AKV concierge about this a couple of days ago since I had requests in for safari's for May but they had been unable to book it yet due to the reservation "upgrade". Now we just have to wait until February to hear if I can go. :rolleyes1

Here's a copy of the email I received:

Dumela!

As of today we can now only book dining, recreation and tours 90 days
out from your date of arrival plus ten days. We will be booking your
plans as they become available on this new window. Thank you for your
patience during this period of transistion.

With the growing pattern of Guests booking their dining, recreation and
tour experiences closer to their travel dates as they finalize their
vacation itineraries, we will be adjusting the booking window for those
experiences to a 90-day period, effective December 23, 2008.

Cirque du Soliel as an outside operating partner will still book La
Nouba at 180 days out.

All existing bookings that were booked for Chef Mickey's, Victoria and
Albert's and Cinderella's Royal Table will still be honored.

Thank you again for your patience and we will write you when your plans
are booked.
