Booking Room Only for August

If anyone who has an AP and visits in August do you book off site and then wait and see if you can get in on site nearer the time or just not bother and stay off site?
Thanks - yep you've guessed it, I'm thinking of a mid week booking in August just to see the fireworks and Fantillusion!!

I've booked offsite for May & October simply because I used Clubcard points for the Adagio (otherwise we wouldn't be going at all!). If I were you, I would book offsite at one of the hotels where you don't have to pay upfront, and then check out the RO prices onsite. Have you tried phoning to ask when August is available?
