I have just read sarahs trip report and took heed of her "book restuarants in advance" comment.

Do I have to do this at the park or can I do it online?

I am going for new year so I am expecting it to be busy and don't want to be left hungrey :rotfl:

and just as I am on the subject of food.......is it possible to grab food and go in the parks?

we will be going to a non disney hotel that provides breakfast. but lunch and dinner I was hoping to do in the park.....what would your advice be? take in my own snaks and drinks? buy snacks and drinks at the park? go for restuarants at the parks?

thanks in advance for your responses

To book restaurants you need to phone the number found on here. You cannot do it online.

There are plenty of counter service restaurants in the parks where you can get food but if you're going New Year's Eve you will definitely need to book any table service or buffet meals you require. There are some special meals for this day but I don't really know anything about these. You could try looking at www.dlpfoodguide.com for more info though.

I would definitely stock up on some drinks and snacks at the Relay in the train station as a small bottle of water in the parks and hotels (even non-Disney ones) was around 2 Euros, compared to 1.30 Euros for a large bottle at Relay. You do have to go through bag check before you go into the parks but they really don't care if you have drinks and snacks in your bag. They won't allow alcohol though.

We have always been at busy times when the park is open longer hours and found that a break at a table service restaurant at lunchtime is a good way to escape the crowds and give us a much needed rest. It always means we are not fighting with the crowds to eat in the evening and have just grabbed a snack then.

Its worth booking but remember you can cancel and if you are late for your reservation by more than 15 mins you will lose it anyhow.
