Booking resort stay to get 180+10

We are pretty sure of the dates we are going, either the week before thanksgiving or the week before xmas. Wither way we will be staying on sight, just not sure which resort yet. I didn't really want to book until we see the discounts for the 2 window. That being said 180+10 will most likely hit before the discounts come out (at least based on what I see historically) so would it be crazy to go ahead and book one night at a value on the first night of the earliest possible week so I can get my ADRs done and then cancel that room and book whichever resort we want once the discounts are announced. AmI missing anything Everything is refundable so its not like I would be out anything right?

I don't think that would work because if you only book 1 night then you can only make ADRs for 2 days or 180+1 (your arrival and departure days). MDE knows how many nights you are booked and won't let you make ADRs past your departure date unless it is less than 180 days when it is open for everyone. You would have to make a reservation for 10 days to get the full benefit of 180+10.

That would still be OK, I could book the whole potential trip as RO b/c I only have to pay the first night with RO reservations correct?
