Booking Question...

I need to make a 7 month reservation using a combination of points. I already know that I will have to call to make the reservation, but my dad will be calling for me so I want to make sure that this can even be done before I send him on his mission.

The reservation is for a full week at AKV. I instructed him to use my points in the following order:
--> (8) Banked AKV points from 2022 FEB UY
--> (54) Current AKV points from 2023 FEB UY
--> (206) Transferred BWV points from 2023 OCT UY

The reservation requires 268 points so the total is correct, but I want to make sure that the points can all be "mushed" together and there won't be a stipulation that requires points to cover full nights or something like that.

Am I good to go??

If you're within 7 months you should be good to go.

When will the reservation be? Those Oct 2023 transferred points can be used only if the reservation begins on or after Oct 1, 2023, i.e., they retain their own use year despite the transfer and cannot be borrowed for an earlier date in your AKV 2023 use year.. Assuming you want Oct, then all the points listed can be mixed to make one reservation at 7-months out. Note, however, that if you still have any other AKV points in the 2023 use year than just the 54 you mention, and want to save those for another reservation, then when making the reservation on the phone, you need to be clear that you actually want only those 54 points in the AKV 2023 use year used.

Also, you may have an issue with your dad making the call. Member Services requires that a member or associate member on your account do any such call to make the reservation.

The transferred points are October 2023 UY and our trip is October 17-24, 2023.
I only have a 100-point AKV contract and I borrowed 46 last year, leaving me 54. I had a waitlist come through that saved me 8 points so those were banked. The only additional AKV points I would have available would be borrowing from 2024 and I specifically told my dad to tell them "no borrowing". I also have (25) 2023 HHI points that I plan to bank so dad has instructions to let them know not to use any HHI points. My dad has been an associate member on my account for several years. He has his own sign in and password so he should be all set. He is a little nervous that he is going to mess something up, but I had him write down the instructions, step by step. I just wanted to make sure that there was not something that I was not considering.

All is good from your side then, but my worry would not be your dad messing it up. With all the years of experience I have had with MS, my main concern would be MS messing it up despite my perfect clarity when I made the reservation.

I have tried to do something similar a couple times when I had multiple contracts - use only banked points from all contracts or use a certain combination of points. The CM helping me told me what I wanted couldn’t be done when I knew it could be. I eventually had to talk to a supervisor to book the reservation. Hope he gets a knowledgeable CM on the phone!
