Booking question

I’ve used all my points from 2019 and all but six from 2020 for this summers vacation. Looking to book for next summer and wondering when I will be able to borrow from 2021. April use year. TIA

Your April 2020 UY covers from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. If you have points for April 2021, they can be borrowed for trips taking place in summer 2020.

You can book at 11 months.

You will be limited to the 2021 points + the 6 left from 2020, so you won't be able to use nearly 2 years of points again.

At 11 months out if reserving home resort, 7 at others, as long as trip starts on or after April 1, 2020. When determining whether and when you can borrow, remove from your mind the date you will call to make the reservation and look only at the dates you will be at WDW.

Easiest way to figure what can be used. First, determine UY of the trip. Trips can be booked with banked points from the UY prior to the trip, points from the UY of the trip, and borrowed points from the UY after the trip.

So, with an April UY, summer 2020 falls in your 2020 UY...so when you call and book, you could use banked 2019 UY points (if you had them), 2020 UY points (the 6 you have), and borrow from 2021 UY (up to what you still have).

Use years can be a little confusing, so just buy more points!!! Put an end to the constant borrowing, but then you use all of those points, so you buy more. Next thing you know your a member of the 1000 point club. I’m not there yet, but we have doubled our initial purchase of 175 points in a little over a year. Like others have said yes you can borrow the 2021 points for a stay after April 01 2020, but can be made 11 months in advance at your home resort.
