Hi, we are thinking of purchasing resale points that have a use year of April. Currently, the first available points are in April 2012. If we would like to make a reservation for June 2012, can we still book 11 months out even though are points are not "available"? Is this considered borrowing from the next year or not b/c the travel does not happen until after new points are accumulated? Any info would be appreciated!

No, it would not be borrowing. A June 2012 trip would fall in your April 2012 use year (April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013). If you were short points for your June 2012 trip, you would borrow from April 2013 extra points to make up the shortfall. Or if you had no points in your April 2012 use year for that June 2012 trip, you would borrow points from April 2013 to make that June 2012 trip.

i just looked online at my member account and my points are "available" out to 2013...the use year month just tells you the period they are valid for stays.

assuming you closed right now, you could borrow april 2012 pts for a stay in feb 2012 (as feb 2012 is in your 2011 UY). but a reservation in june 2012 is in your 2012 UY as deb&bill point out, so you could make that reservation at 11 months out at your home resort with current 2012 pts - regardless of what use year you are actually in right now - and borrowed 2013 pts if needed (and banked 2011 pts if you had any).
