I'm trying to decide when to book my campsite for June. We aren't 100% positive that we will be camping, but are REALLY hoping for it. I know that in the past when calling CRO one could make a reservation and have 14 days before paying the one night deposit. Then, it seems to me that someone posted about requiring full payment on campsites a while back. Today, I read where someone only had to pay one night deposit but at time of booking. So, if I go through CRO and not online, what is the policy now?

Thanks,
Melanie

That's it. But they do apply the charge to the credit card b-4 you hang up. You have up to 5 days b-4 arrival to cancel, the day b-4 arrival to change ressies.

Thanks. I was confused with all the new programs and rules.

I've read about the 14-day rule to get your deposit in, right in the "Official Guide." If I'm not mistaken, you can call CRO and make your reservation, get the confirmation number and all that, and just say you'd like to pay your deposit by check. They'll ask first off if you want to put it on your Visa (since they're partnered with Disney and all!), but you should have the option of sending a check, and in that case, you have 14 days to get it in.

In all my past trips, I have been able to make the reservations and pay the one night's deposit within the 14 days. I think I'll just call CRO and find out. We did approach my dad about going with us in June and he initially agrees, but the 14 days will give me time to really make sure he wants to do this. If not, then I'll wait on the AP rates and just go back to POR.

Just to let you know, I just made our reservations for June 4-15. Although the CM pushed me to pay the one night deposit, I specifically asked if it was required or did I have the 14 days before making the deposit. He ended up saying that I did have the 14 days so that is what I did. The reasoning behind it is that there are no preferred loops available today. However, I may be able to secure one in the next 14 days and then make the deposit.

As long as you are outside of 30 days, then you will have 14 days to pay your deposit. Just tell them to hold it, and you will call back with the credit card. :)

That was exactly what I thought. He kept pushing, but I knew I could wait. Hopefully, in the next 14 days I can get it switched to preferred. If not, I'll pay the deposit on the full hookup and keep trying to change it.
