Booking question please

Ok so had to move some things around in a February reservation for next year. So might need a room for one night and right now the only available thing for the one night is old key west.
I have a February use year. If I book that one night now and then have to cancel will those points go back into my 2024 use year? I have no 2023 points left. Also how far in advance would I have to cancel?

Yes. You4 2024 UY is good for stays form 1 February, 2024 - 31 January, 2025. If you cancel more than 30 days out they return to your 2024 UY cleanly; otherwise, they go into holding.
