Here is my question. I have a 7 day vacation booked at my home resort 11 months out. At 7 months can I then switch 4 days to another resort? How does that work if all my points are allocated? Please be patient I am new at this. Thanks

1) you can try
2) if dates are available, you cancel what you have and book what you want. If dates are not open, then you waitlist.

As PP noted you have to cancel your original reservation, you can't modify it by cutting off days. So if the other resort is available you will then book two reservations, one at your home resort and one at the other resort.

Can 2 reservations be made at your home resort for 7 consecutive days meaning, Reservation 1 4 days and reservation 2 3 days or will they put them together.

I'm not sure if the rooms are both the same (meaning studio for 1st and studio for 2nd), you could explain what you are trying to do to the castmember. I have two HHI reservations for this fall the 1st 2 days we're in a one bedroom and the next 3 days we're in a studio.

YOu would have to call member services and have them shorten your original reservation by 4 days. This would free up points. Then you can use those points to book somewhere else. You would run the risk that in the time it took to do the modification with Member Services, the resort you wanted to switch to could be taken. For this reason, I would do the whole thing with Member Services. Tell them what you are trying to accomplish. They could tell if the resort you wanted the 4 days at was almost sold out or if there was plenty of availability. They could then do both transactions.

Member services can remove days on your reservation.

Like someone else said, the only issue you might run into is that if you are trying to switch to a highly desired resort during a highly desired time period, you might have issues with availability.
