Booking Options. Any Advantages?

So I've been trying to plan our trip to Disneyland in October for months now. I figure I have 4 options for booking.
1 - A travel Agent
2 - Small World Vacations
3 - Doing it myself ala carte
4 - Disneyland.com

So far I've priced it less doing it myself. Are there advantages to using an agent?

The plan is Sept 30 - Oct 8
HoJo Anaheim
6 day park hopper
Universal with transportation

Above that the costs are airfare, food , and spending $. I think...

Seeing you're from Seattle, check out alaskaair.com. Also, AAA often offers the same disney package for the same price or lower than Disneyland.com but with free parking and a shopping discount card for certain DTD/Anaheim stores. Costco offers packages again for the same price but with a free character meal and $20 gift card. The packages come w perks you won't get if you book on you own. Like, toontown morning madness, priority seating, and a luggage tag. You have to ask if those perks are worth the higher price to you. We've done it both ways. Also, consider getawaytoday for a package. Also, HoJo gives basic rooms in packages that they might let you pay to upgrade from. Where if you book on your own, you know what room you are booking.

1,2 and 4 have to make money. So you pay them for this. You can find the deals using the internet just as well as a travel agent.

DL.com usually has a higher hotel rate than you will find for the good neighbor hotels. But good specials for thier own hotels if you intend to stay onsite.

Once you've found your way to a planning site like this, you are on your way to saving the most money.

I have found that booking myself at a DLR hotel, and then buying my tickets online separately the night before we leave, is the least expensive way to do it. I don't need parking and already have a Tinkerbell luggage tag!
