I think the bonus with Disney travel agents is that they know Disney. Most regular TAs can book Disney trips, but won't know the ins and outs.
I like regular travel agents because they can be counted on to fix the things that go wrong. When Continental says they won't add in certain miles because it wasn't their airline, I just call the travel agent and she gets the miles taken care of. It would take me hours of fighting and might not get done at all if I tried to do it myself.
For me, the travel agent is just security. Someone to handle the troubles.
