What are the advantages of booking on board? How far out can you book a cruise? If you book but need to bail, is the deposit refundable?

When we rebooked on board, we got 10% off, and I believe a $200. credit. We actually booked 2 different cruises, not sure of which we wanted. After returning home and determining which would work, we cancelled the 2nd, and received a refund within 2 weeks. I have also learned that you can transfer to a different date and keep the discount. This will come in handy when we are on board next month, but want to book for a 2007 date that hasn't been released yet. We will just book, then change it when the new dates are released. Definitely book onboard. You can also transfer to your TA and get whatever incentive they will give you, and if their price is better, you will get that price!

This is my plans exactly. Dh said no, but I am sure I can convince him to see my view.

Do you have to pay the whole amount. I was just wondering. We will be on the repo cruise and DH was talking about being able to get discounts on future cruises. I am sure we will be spending a fortune on this cruise so I don't know how willing he will be to plan for another one anytime soon. NOW going back to Disney world, when we were there in June he was already talking about going back around Christmas. So who knows. Winning the lottery, that would help alot, Fat Chance though. Dream big I always say.

You don't have to pay the whole thing. I think it's a $250. per person deposit. If you can swing that, it pays for a big chunk way ahead of time, and the earlier you book, the longer you have to save to pay the rest off! I would book. If you do and change you mind, you can cancel and get your deposit back. If you don't.... you can't go back and do it and get the discount and credit!

Can you book 2 rooms and get discount and onboard credit for both rooms?
I am on repo cruise and would like to book another cruise for me and in-laws who won't be on repo cruise. Would I be able to switch names on reservations later or keep under my name the whole time?
