Booking on Disneyland.com a year in advance?

Hey all! So we've decided to take the kids to DL NEXT Halloween (this one's just for the BIG kids! hehe), and we want to go all out this time! DLH it is! So I noticed you can pay only a $200 deposit to book, as long as the balance is paid a month before your visit. It looks like they don't change a fee for this service like Getaway today does? Also, what if a better deal comes along sometime in the next year through Disney for better room prices or a package offer? Will I be able to cancel and put my balance paid toward the better deal?? Thanks!!

This is exactly how we booked when we visit WDW or DL prior to becoming DVC members. You pay your deposit of $200 with no extra fees, or charges. The balance needs to be paid I "think" 45 days prior to your trip for WDW and 30 for DL. If you do need to cancel you get 100% of your money back as long as you cancel more than 30 days prior to your trip. If a better rate or discount code comes out all you have to do is call and have it applied to your existing package. You can also do this through Costco travel, directly from Disneyland online, or even travel companies such as Dreams Unlimited.
