I have never used places like priceline, hotels.com or travelzoo. I am needing a room for the first night that we are in Orlando before we check into Disney. Can someone guide me in the right direction for a good deal? I surely don't want to use a company that people have had trouble with.

Thank you!:)

travelzoo gives great deals on hotels. I have used priceline for many things, but never for orlando. I think I would be a little leery, not knowing the area as well as I would feel comfortable with booking something unknown. Keep watching out on travelzoo. I just booked a hotel for our last night before the airport for $32 a night. Gotta love it! Good luck to you!

I pulled up travelzoo and they do have some great deals. Have you used them before? I had not ever even heard of them before until I read about it on here.

Yes travelzoo has awesome deals. Many people on the boards booked through them without a problem.

I was on there yesterday and they don't have anything yet for Sept. so I will keep checking back. I saw that they offered a DTD hotel for like 69.00 a night, which is cheap. :)

I have not used Priceline or Hotwire, but I have used Travelzoo (3 times) and www.hotelkingdom.com. I have no issues with either website and would use them again (obviously, as I have used travelzoo 3 times!). With travel zoo I usually book one of the weekly Top 20 deals. Register with them and you will get the Top 20 emailed to you every week. You will certainly find something for your Sept dates, although right now I think they are mostly spring & summer specials.

What I like about Travel Zoo and Hotel Kingdom is that you choose the hotel you want. With Priceline you choose the area, but don't find out which hotel it is until after you buy. Travel Zoo (usually) just takes your credit card to hold the reservation, but nothing gets charged until you check in. The hotels we stayed at with them had a 4:00 or 6:00pm same day cancellation policy, so if something happened and we were delayed or had to cancel we could.

We never stay onsite. We have stayed in both the Lake Buena Vista and Kissimee areas. I would recommend a DTD or Lake Buena Vista area hotel for you for one night.

Thank you so much for your advice. I'll keep checking with travel zoo. It's not like I need to book it today anyway, I just need to know who I can trust when I book. I would also want to pick my hotel.:) The LAST thing that I need is a problem with our reservation after we have been in the car for 8 or 9 hours with three kids. :rotfl2:
