When booking my wedding and honeymoon what did you find better, booking directly through disney or using someone else?

I dont really know whats best, my sister booked it all through virgin because she was told it would be much easier, in the end she found that they messed her about alot. Is this a one off? :confused3

And if your booking it through disney yourself how far in advance can you book your big day? I heard it was 8 months, but i think i read somewhere that that'd been changed?

This seems like the scary part, so any advise, experiences or replys would be great. :lovestruc thanks guys

If you want a DFTW you would have to book through Disney. The rules used to be that you could book your date at either 12 months out or 8 months out, and that is dependent on what location you choose. Recently, though, they have changed the rules so now you can book your date 16 months out, also dependent on what location you choose.

As for the honeymoon, my DF and I are going on a Disney cruise for our HM and my consultant said we have to book the regular way, not through DFTW.

Virgin does (or at least did) have a special deal but I think if you polled the UK brides, most would say they should have gone directly through DFTW as it turned into a bit of a headache dealing with Virgin...(so, no, I don't think your sister's situation was a one-of.) :(

:goodvibes

What type of wedding are you planning, Escape or Wishes, i'm guessing Escape if you were thinking of booking through Virgin, so 8 months before you can book.

May 10th, that's a Tuesday, so that'll help, you want SBP but at what time?

I think you'll be fine. Not that many brides on here have ever had to go into the lottery.

oh thats great :goodvibes i was abit worried now that wishes brides can pick their dates 16 months in advance now that we might not get it. I think im just being abit panicy over nothing lol

If you're not too concerned with the time then you should have no problem getting your location.

I got married on a Thursday at SBP, I didnt book until about 6 or 7 months out. I got my first choice of day, and my 2nd choice of times.

Even though you can't book until 8 months out, you can go ahead and have your date tentatively scheduled for an Escape wedding 12 months out. We are in the books, and my consultant actually said to go ahead and book our honeymoon; he didn't anticipate any problems with the date. The only way that you can get booted out of your Escape date is if a Wishes wedding couple wants the same date/time/location. Since Wishes are now allowed to book 16 months out, it is unlikely that someone will "steal" your spot.

Congratulations and good luck planning!

Exactly the same here, I even moved my time slot about a week before we could and there was no problems being moved.
