I'm one of those people that I want to wait till the last minute to book something just incase I change my mind... anyways my husband and I are planning our first trip together the last week of Jan 06... well I haven't booked anything yet but I was wondering if I should go ahead and do it or should I be ok to wait till at least Nov (seeing as how another hurricane is about to come)... I know it's a "value" time so I'm hopeing I don't have any troubles with anything being booked but I would like to wait till around mid Nov to book just to make sure this is what we want to spend our money on (we are in the process of trying to find a home and it's not going good, no houses, I mean it only took us a YEAR to get preapproved, now there are NO houses)... HELP anyone, give me some advice about, is it safe for me to wait? What about plane tickets? I want to wait on those too...

Anyways... Thanks for listening!

anyone? could use the help here... i've never booked a vacation before... :listen:

Go to Travelocity and sign up for fair watcher when the lflights are reduced you will be notified. Book then or take the chance on waiting. you can make you PS 90 out, I would do so. We just got back from our first trip yesterday. Take good shoes and be prepared. It is going to take a loonngg time for my legs to recover. If you have any questions you can PM me. Plan Plan Plan. :earsgirl:

I wouild book the room if you're staying on site. You only have to pay for one night as a deposit and if you have to cancel or change dates it shouldn't be a problem but at least you know you have a room. I would also download the Ding from Southwest Airlines if you can use them. The Ding fares are unbelievable.

Do you have tickets for the parks yet? IF not, then you need to consider what your best options are now! If you are staying only a few days then Magic Your Way tickets might best suit you, if you are going for a longer stay, you may want to consider an Annual Pass, which would entitle you to the Best Rate Program, as long as you book online at least 120 days before your trip. You can do a spontaneous trip and book everything last minute, but you should then be prepared to pay a little more. This is just my opinion, I knew I was making a trip in May, and even though I am not going until two weeks from today, all the arrangements were made in June! I just found out that the resort we are staying in is completely booked now. So it is up to you, but I would do as another poster has said and at least book a room. You only need to pay for one night up front so if you change your mind you have not made a huge investment.

Good luck,
If you have any specific questions, message me and I will get back to you!

OK i think I will wait on the plane tickets because I think I'm going to use Southwest and they aren't booking that far in advance, I think by the end of Oct I can look, and I do have my DING ready...

I'm using a Disney Visa Rewards card for my trip, I dont know if anyone can help me, but do you have to put your WHOLE trip on the card at once? Or can I just do the deposit then add the rest of the trip to the card and pay like that? I guess it doesn't really matter since I get the no interest on my CC for 6 months...

I'm going Jan 28th-Feb 3rd which is considered a slow season so I don't think I'll have TOO much problems with over booking, I think i will book as soon as I know about my "finding a home" problems. And now another hurricane to cause problems. Just praying I don't loose my electricity this time...

But I'm thinking plane tickets no later then 90 days... my hotel and tickets (which I'm booking on WDW vacation packages) by no later then the beginning of Nov? I should know by then if I'm going to go for sure...

I like the DING but I wish it would let me put the dates in like the one on travelocity but the problem with Travelocity most airlines aren't booked that far inadvance so I still could get better deals if I just wait.

Ok thanks again, you guys are so helpful! :goodvibes

I heard that mousesavers may have some discounts coming up for the holiday season. If your dates are somewhat flexible you may want to wait and see what they have to offer.

Leaving tomorrow (Sunday) at 5am to catch our flight

:moped: WAIT FOR ME I"M COMING!!!!!

there's a cool new deal coming out soon. Justa thought but that might influence your choice of dates, planning horizon, etc. Have you seen the thread on the codes and rates board?

YIKES --EITHER I SUFFERED A SIGNIFICANT BRAIN POOTIE OR ELSE A BOARD POOTIE. (LOL!) :rotfl:
When I initially posted I SWEAR all I saw was your second little "Somebody...Anybody" post. Oh well -- great minds think alike.

what do you mean by codes and rates? I'm going during the "off" season so I know I"m getting the cheaper hotel prices... but as far as codes, can I use codes booking online with WDW? I have "skim" through the forums but I don't understand a lot of that kind of stuff...
and there's a new deal coming out soon, do you mean from actually disney's planning packages or from someone elses?

Jaime :listen:

Find the box "Forum Jump" (I think). Click on the arrow. Select "Codes and Rates". Ckick on "Go". You will see a selection -- Choose "Codes and Rates" and TA-DA, you're there! A bunch of not-too-serious folks (you can tell by the high incidence rate of dancing bananas    ) posting about serious WDW discounts including the one hinted to be coming out soon at @ mousesavers.com! Although there is a lot of speculation, it sounds like this one will most likely be from WDW itself. It's such a hot topic that it's got its own thread. (Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!)

hahha

i went and thanks a lot... i think i'm going to book "room only" right now (even though I dont understand why I can't do the room and tickets, are tickets nonrefundable?) and if I do the "one room" for my first night, "room only" can I cancel it later?

I dont know if I'm going to do it yet though because in order to get my Visa Disney no interest for 6 months on any WDW package I have to follow some dumb guidelines and I think I have to book my WHOLE trip, tickets and all rooms at the sametime..

I'll just have to look into it some more but I AM going to keep an eye for a code.

THanks and here's another  for myself.

If it makes you feel better we (my husband and I) are planning on going Jan 21-Jan 29 for our anniversary and we haven't booked anything, though Im thinking of possibly making Priority Seatings before we go (we always play by ear in the past). We too are waiting for Southwest to release fare prices for that time, and once we get our plane tickets will then worry about hotels. We have done this in the past four years, and haven't had a whole lot of problems...

Jennifer

oh thanks Jennifer! Here i been like... should I book now or should I wait... no book, no go book!

I figure I'll do the same thing and by the time Southwest gets their fares out for that week maybe some good codes/deals will be out for my room/tickets, if not oh well, I'll still book them.

Thanks again.
Jaime
