Hope someone can help me here. I'm hoping to book our meals soon - when I finally decide on times/dates etc. Are the people on reservations normally good English speakers? I speak some French but I'm v rusty and not enough I guess to book what I need.

Also, if I book something and then we cancel can we do so on the day without penalty? Or even change the time? I'm just so confused about what to do and when with a baby and toddler!

Thanks for your help.

As soon as you start speaking English, the people on the phone will start speaking English to you.

As for changing / cancelling bookings, you don't have to pay anything to book in the first place - they just reserve you a table. As such, there would be no penalty for cancelling or changing the time, although you can't guarantee a time change will be possible as you get nearer to your holiday

They are perfect english speakers!

My few calls have always been:

Them: Bonjour, *something french i don't understand*
Me: Bonjour, parlex vous Anglias?
Them: Yes Madame, bonjour, how may I help you today?

Better English than me!! So don;t worry at all.

I always say bonjour then start speaking English and have never had problems not being understood. Very friendly.

haha my phone calls usually go

them: bojour ......(french) disneyland paris

me: emm im not sure if i have the right line but ..........................

Thanks :thumbsup2 I did study French to A Level but it was a good few years ago and I was rubbish then too! :rotfl: I can start a conversation but then when they start speaking really fast (thinking I understand them) I kind of lose the plot

I'm afraid I don't even attempt to speak French - the CM answers the phone, I say "Hello", then the CM immediately switches to English for the rest of the conversation.

I know that feeling. I go away snowboarding in Slovenia around March quite a lot. My knowledge of the Slovenian is rather poor, but I know how to say hello, thank you etc... Unfortunately, when I do so hello to them in the shops etc, they then start speaking extremely quickly to me in Slovenian - not a clue! :rotfl:
