Booking last minute for November 2013, am I nutz??

To make a long story short, we had a big plumbing issue this summer, and we had to pay OOP for the repairs. My homeowner's policy is covering most of the work we had to pay for, so I thought if I get the check in hand soon, we're going to Disney with part of the money. I'm hoping for November 15-22, at POFQ, with MVMCP on the 17th. This will be my family's first time at the parks around the holidays, and my first time since I was 8 yrs old seeing the decorations. I've always dreamed about a trip during Christmastime, because I feel the parks are more magical at that time of year. Am I completely bonkers for booking the trip this close to our travel dates? My biggest fear is not getting the ADR's that are must do's on our trips to WDW. Maybe it's time to try some new places to eat? Any and all opinions are greatly appreciated.

Check the Disney dining site several times a day people cancel all the time especially as we get closer to November.

I think it's great! We did this a few year's back when my husband got an unexpected bonus at the end of the year and had a ball!!

We are trying a few new things this year. Most excited about the Hoop Dee Doo Revue and the Pirates and Pals Fireworks cruise. We also are going to try to do Be Our Guest for lunch one day.

My kids (2 big kids) are finally at the height requirement where they can get on a few of the larger thrill rides and we are really jazzed about that!

Have a super amazing trip! No matter what ADRs you get, you'll still be in Disney. AWESOME!!

I think it's great! I would look for new places to eat. We're also planning a last minute trip in November. I'm looking into something fun for our boys' birthday celebration, so far nothing is available.

We booked July 25 to arrive on July 27
We thought about 2 weeks before that it was possible and I was able to get all our ressies (could have hadCRT but changed mine, found BOG, H&V breakfast, Tusker House and CP) granted it wasn't during free dining so that could make a difference. I was also able to get BBB and on our way down, was even able to move the appt. up to an earlier time.
