Hi All,

Are there any advantages/disadvantages by booking hojo online vs calling the hotel directly? The entertainment rate is not valid when we are going to be there, and I have the code for the mousesavers 15% off (which is better than AAA).

Thanks

If it applies it correctly online, then there's no trouble. I'd give it a try. Sometimes, it doesn't apply the discounts correctly. Also, if you do it online, it will only give you a discount if all of the days are available for that discount. For example, if the entertainment rate is available for two of your days, but not all four, it won't apply the discount at all. Ditto to other discounts. Not an issue if all the days are open for your type of discount.
It takes awhile to get through to in house reservations, often. So, I'd try out online first and then call them if it doesn't work out okay.

I just called because their online site was having issues the day I tired to book. The ENT rate doesn't always apply correctly online even if it is available during your stay. I got through right away with no issues so for me I would say just call. You might be eligible for other discounts you didn't know about. :)

I booked by calling. Not only did I get a better AAA rate than online, the reservationist was very helpful in taking special request that I had. Personally I like talking directly to the hotel. Cuts down on errors, computer glitches, etc.

Remember to check back on the Entertainment Rate date list! They add dates often. Then you'd want to call and switch it over.

FWIW, they have a disboards member rate that is the same as the mousesavers rate. :)

I am looking at booking this hotel as well for may. does anyone know if 15% is the best discount available?

The ent rate is a rate you get for showing them your entertainment card from your entertainment book. It is close to half off. Visit here for more info.

They also have an AP discount.

Do call. Jennifer is so helpful and friendly! We can't wait to get there! :)

i called there today and they said the discount from the entertainment book is only 10% off and CANNOT be combined with the 15% mousesavers discount.

Ah...you didn't talk to the right people. You need to call the in house reservations and speak to them directly. They will know what you are talking about. Also you cannot combine the discounts but you can get another one if the ent rate isn't available for your entire stay. Again...be sure to call the hojo anaheim and ask for IN HOUSE reservations! :thumbsup2

aha, that is great to know. thanks so much! i will call them. hopefully i can get an even better deal. I don't have the entertainment book now, but hopefully they can at least quote me a price assuming I have it.

You dont need the card until you check in. So if the rate is available during your stay you can book it! I posted a link earlier to a list of available dates. Call 714-776-6120 (I think) and just ask for in house reservations. They will transfer you over. Then just tell them that you'd like to book a room with the entertainment rate. They'll get you setup! Also if it isn't available for each night of your stay ask which other discounts they offer. You can get a AAA one or even a disboards discount...just ask! :) Good luck to you! :goodvibes

By calling the 714, Anaheim number, during Pacific business hours and asking for "in house" reservations, they will indeed be able to give you that info. You don't even have to have the book with the card until the moment you get to the desk to check in. :)

Last year I booked our stay online & the Entertainment Rate was applied correctly. I had no troubles whatsoever. :thumbsup2
Yesterday I tried to book online & the Ent Rate wouldn't go through for me despite being listed as available so I called in house reservations. After waiting on hold for awhile, I talked to Jennifer who was very helpful & got it all booked. :cheer2:
I'd say either way is good.

I am dealing with the same thing right now. It shows all my dates available at the ent. rate, but when I get to the final page after typing in all my info., it says "rate plan not available". I guess I'll just call in-house ressies on Monday. :)

That's exactly what happened to me. I tried a few times with the same results then gave up & called. lol :confused3

Yes...I am giving up too. Both ressies that I tried to make (Oct. and Dec.) came up the same way. I hope that they get this fixed. I'll give them a call on Monday. I'm glad you were able to get your ressie by calling. :)

Me too!
I am sure that you'll be fine with Monday as well if the dates are showing as available online. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!! pixiedust:

Have you tried it day by day? It should work if you just do it one day at a time. Big huge pain, and then you call them anyway to have them note that you're just one group and need one room...but at least no one else can snake the dates out from under you!

Sorry....I'm not following what you're saying or if it's clear what I meant. :-) I'm not saying that different rates show up after it says that those dates are available for the ent. rates on the availability calendar. When I put in my dates for my stay, every day is listed at the ent. rate when my ressie info. comes up. Then it asks for my credit card info. etc., and when the final page comes up, it says in red "rate plan not available". So, I'm not seeing any way to remedy this online. Am I missing something???
