Booking HHI in Sept, Oct or Nov?

Hi gang! I was wondering how hard it is to book at Hilton Head Island in the months of Sept - Nov using the 7-month window? Anyone have an idea?

The reason I ask is whether I should buy direct at HHI and pay the higher maintenance dues to lock in the 11-month ressie window or buy at another resort, say SSR, with lower dues and have only the 7-month window for ressies at HHI. Is it risky finding availability at 7-months out?

We booked a 1 br last year for nov at the 7 mth window and had to waitlist for one nite - got it a couple mths later with no problem; just booked a 2 br for nov [same week as last year - wk of election day] and got the entire week. can't speak for reserving in sept or oct.

We've been two times in October and have booked for Oct. 07. We've had 1 BR's twice and a 2 BR this time and we've always booked at 7 months or later. This time it was just about 6 months out when we booked. We've never had a problem for early to mid Oct. at 7 months. Studio's may be harder - but I don't know.
