Booking Grand Villa at VGC?

Does anyone here have experience booking a Grand Villa at the Villas at the Grand Californian? That's our home resort and I'm hoping to bank and borrow so that I can have a family reunion there next year. We won't be going at a really high demand time, looking at the first week of June which is before most of the California schools let out, but just after the Utah schools are out.

Do I need to do something extreme like walking a reservation at 11 months? Have people been frustrated with trying to get reservations for the Grand Villa at VGC? There are only two of them!

We just got back 2 weeks ago from one of the Grand Villa's -- Amazing experience -- will do it again for sure.

To answer your question, I booked the room EXACTLY 11 months out when they opened for the day. I didn't "walk" the room but just got the exact 4 nights I wanted. Of course, waiting 11 months was a bit if a pain but so, totally worth it.

If the dates are popular, I'd recommend "walking" the reservation down day by day until you get what you want. I did this resevation for mid January weekend and weekdays both.

Since the resort is so small, I would also suggest that you make the reservation for a Grand Villa at the 11 month mark. No need to be disappointed if you wait until later and they are gone at that time.
