Hey everyone!

I've been to Disneyland Paris once and Walt Disney World multiple times, now I would really love to go to the place where it all began however I'm struggling to find places where I can book packages for Disneyland Resort from the UK. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Sam

You don't have to book a package, I suggest you check *this* out

You can easily book your hotel on it's own *lots of nice off site hotels with in walking distance. Call the hotel *the 714 number* it's 10:30 AM there now.

Get your tickets from a number of places including www.disneyland.com

Consider flying in to LGB SNA or LAX.

Thanks very much for the information! I was already aware that there was about the same amount of rides in Disneyland but it makes me even more excited to go thinking about it. Any recommendations on hotels that are close to the resort? Perhaps within walking distance?

Yep....WDW vets should read that tip thread several times. It's 100% dead on accurate. :thumbsup2

Regarding lodging: If you want to spend $200-$400 per night, then stay on site. If you want to spend $75-$150, then STAY ON HARBOR BLVD less than 1/2 a mile away. If you're gonna be here for awhile.....you might want to stay on Harbor for 3 days & then move on site for a few days. :)

To help us help you......please advise:

- number of people.
- any kids?
- how many nights?
- is swimming important?
- Do you commando tour?
- any folks who can't walk as well? (seniors etc.)
- What month of the year are you traveling?

Don't get sucked into the terms "good neighbor" or "within a mile". (which may require you to take an ART bus to get there).

Stay on site or true walking distance on Harbor Blvd (basically between the CCI on one end & the Hojo on the other). I like the CCI, the Fairfield & Hojos (for lots of reasons)....but also have heard good things about 2-3 others.

But if you have the dough.....stay on site for 2-3 days (or the whole trip. :hippie:)

Have a great time at Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

Hi, thanks for the help.

There are 4 of us going (all adults) but college students so we're on a limited budget as you can imagine. Swimming is not important to us at all, we just want to enjoy Walt's park! We plan to go in November when DCA's updates are ready to go.

My first ever trip to DLR was when I was living back in London and we booked everything ourselves rather than use an agent. We would never have dreamed of doing this for our DLRP trips but travel agents arn't so used to booking trips to DLR, more just DLRP and WDW. You can buy park hoppers and book flights and hotels all separately and still keep the cost low or try for a flights and hotel package through a site like expedia? Best of luck and hope you have a great trip! :)

Thanks very much! We're definitely going now, just a case of deciding which dates in November and choosing a hotel. Can't wait, especially with the DCA expansion opening soon.

Hi

You have plenty of options for package holidays:

http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/brochures/usa/holidays/los_angeles/anaheim/hotels.aspx ( we have used these a couple of times and their "specials" about 1 -3 months beforehand are usually quite competative on price)

http://www.tcsignature.com/destinations/usa/anaheim/

http://www.thomsonworldwide.com/destinations/USA/Anaheim

http://www.funwayholidays.co.uk/Destinations/Destination.aspx?dest=ANH

http://www.premierholidays.co.uk/america/california/los_angeles_and_anaheim

As others have said sites such as expedia, opodo, ebookers and lastminute.com all let you create your own "packages".

Be prepared for the long flight for such a short amount of time. We came back last weekend from our 5th trip over there - we had a full 7 days there and wouldn't want to go for any shorter time. The jet lag is still killing us (8 hours time difference). We also had a slow flight over there and were sat on the plane for over 13 hours. It feels much further than Florida!

Hth!

Thanks for the help! Yeah the flight is going to be very long but I'm sure it will be worth it. I found a really nice quote on NetFlights.com for hotel and flight just for future reference if anyone stumbles across this thread in the future.

Nice, what hotels are available through netflights.com?

Most of the ones that are on or quite close to Harbor BLVD. We've chosen to stay at the Fairfield Inn because it seems to be right across the road. It comes to £798.50 for the flight from London Heathrow, transfers to and from LAX and the hotel (per person), I'll book the tickets on the disneyland website.

Fairfield is a solid choice. Probably 50 yards down from the crosswalk & an easy 7-8 min. walk to the turnstile. You've probably seen the other couple of threads on it recently. You had mentioned being in your 20s & don't need a kiddie pool, or a fancy hotel.....I think the Fairfield will be great. A few quick thoughts:

- Unlike other Fairfields, no free breakfast. (but you can throw a rock & hit McDonalds)....perfect for picking up McBreakfast items to munch on while you wait at the turnstile. (also cheap grub if you're hungry on the way back to the room) :)

- Non Descript Pool. But it is nice to hop in it if the weather is warm.

- If you're planning on staying late late.....I recommend a mid day break.

- The standard room has a "fold out chair" the size of a cot. Handy for the "extra person" (if the extra person is kinda small).

Have a great time at Walt's Park. :thumbsup2

Thank-you very much on the information for the hotel! We really hope to be spending very little time in it, all day in the parks! I've been to WDW and DLRP before so I know it can be tiring but it's worth it!

Really good to know the McDonald's is close to the hotel, will be very useful for a quick bite to eat before we hop into the parks. Is there anything similar to McDonald's in DTD?

Probably won't be spending anytime in the pool, if it's a hot day I'll probably just take a soaking on Grizzly River Run as I've heard it's easier to get wet on that Kali River Rapids.

Can't wait to enjoy Walt's Park, I just stumbled across a video on YouTube with WDW's Magic Kingdom and Disneyland Park side by side... really got me excited.
