Booking for NYE 2022

I am hoping to book NYE 2022 at Saratoga or Poly where we have points. I have enough points to book from the 12/28 through 1/1. That 11 month booking moment is coming up.

Are there any strategies you suggest to actually getting a booking other than to be online to book at 8 am the day booking is possible?

With only enough points for 4 nights walking isn’t guaranteed. That said, at 11 months SSR should definitely not be an issue. I imagine you’ll be fine getting Poly as well if that is your first choice.

Walking for 4 nights vs 7 nights have the same guarantee. Only way you lose a walk at 11 months is if Disney does something to take a room out of service and that can happen whether you have 7 or 4…they can stop any size walk.

When you book something before you need it and then move it forward to your real dates.

Say I want to really stay Dec 25 to 29…instead of trying on January 25…my real window…I book a trip on January 10th for Dec 10 to 14…then a few days later, I modify and move it forward…and keep doing that until I get my real dates.

True, but they could start a few days early at least.

You can walk as long as you have enough points to book 2 nights. The problem is in getting the walk started. After that, you have to walk the reservation forward every single day until you've achieved your dates if you only have enough points for 2 nights.

Poly will be a tough one to book for NYE because a lot of members who own there want access to the Poly Beach for the fireworks on NYE. SSR may not be as hard to book but Christmas thru New Year's Day is a very high demand time. The advice to walk the reservation, if possible, is spot on.

Thanks for the info on walking. After I posted I had thought about it and knew I was wrong but failed to come back and correct myself. SSR last year had availability up until the 7 month mark for NYE.

It doesn't get sketchy for home owners. It gets sketchy for those booking at 7 months. So I'm in agreement, I think it'll still be bookable in a week.

I see studio availability at most resorts for NYE, all resorts if you include 1 BR.
