We are looking to book a trip back to Orlando for July 2014 when our daughter will be 2 years and 2 months. Previously we have always booked flights and accommodation separate but pricing it and looking at flights it seems that I will need to basically pay the same for my daughters flight as my own!! I understand she will have her own seat but it just seems so much! Is there anyway I can book it cheaper? Would package be cheaper and with what company?? We are looking for a villa!
Thanks for any help!

Unfortunately children have to pay the full amount of taxes and surcharges. They get a discount on the "fare" portion but it doesn't bring the overall cost down much.

It will be the same whether you book a package or flights direct I'm afraid :sad1:

Yes we had two last year and had to pay bascially full price, i think it 10% cheaper than adult. Ours last year didnt even get kids meals that were requested :-(

Thanks for the answer! Thankfully we are hopefully going to get a villa and car with our friends and they are happy just to split all that between the adults so it is just the flights, it's just so expensive!!! At least she is still young enough she doesn't need park tickets!

If you booked a hotel with disney direct then she wouldnt have to pay towards hotel as she is under three

You can at least save a bit of dining. Food portions are so massive I'm sure a 2 year old could easily just eat of a couple of adults' plates.

Most US hotels charge per room regardless of how many people you have in them (up to the allowed number) doesn't matter how you book.

At Disney you can have one under 3 in the room that doesn't count towards the occupancy limits.

How I wish that had been true! DD was not the type of kid to share off an adult plate she liked to be served her own dinner! :rolleyes1 It doesn't cost much anyway even a Disney TS kids meal is only $8.50 ish

You can have more than that as we have twins and both last year didnt count towards occupancy

Normally, Disney room occupancy states X plus one under 3. It would only have matter if you were near the limit for the room though.

I guess the company just see it as a seat full that could of been a full paying adult. We are going in September and DD seat cost the same as ours :0. Certainly put the the price up a bit.

Have a great time though we took DD in February as well when she was 23 months she loved it the interaction was great x
