booking for 2008, which option?

Hi, I am planing on 2008.

So far I have come up with the following options

Virgin Holidays a Disney Mod Hotel with PE flights.

or First Choice and AKL standard room with in Premier star class.

Both are roughly the same price give or take a few £.

I am wondering if PE is that much better than First Choice to justify a hotel down grade, I don't mind staying at a mod if PE is worth the extra cost over First choice, plus we will can collect Air Miles with Virgin which may pay off in the future.

What do you think?

I have only ever flown economy with Virgin and that was some time ago so I cannot comment on PE but I have flown with First Choice Premier.

I thought First Choice Premier was fantastic, food lovely, drinks plentiful and very attentive cabin crew. The entertainment on the plane was also superb, there were 18 of us altogether, 8 of which were children so you can imagine I was dreading the flight but I can honestly say I did not have to tell them off once, they were too busy playing the games!
They could not do enough for us, we flew back in November when the high security measures were put in place and airlines were very strict on what was allowed on board and at what size.
We were getting married and had Wedding clothing in excess of £5,000 and were hoping to take it onboard with us. We spoke to the check in supervisor who let us keep our one case with all the valuables in until the departure gate then one of the luggage staff personally put my suitcase on the plane and I was allowed to see him do this and he even reported where he was putting it over his radio. They also repeated this on the other end. Now that’s what I call first class service!

Now I am sure Virgin PE is great also but when you put AKL in the mix, there is no comparison for me.

Ditch Virgin!

Alcholic drinks served throughout
Food was served on china, even the little salt/pepper pots
We had newspapers
and Priority baggage reclaim

I suggest you join the Frequest Flyer Club with Virgin - I got 10% off the Virgin Holidays price which meant that we upgraded to deluxe - could this be the answer. Though I dont know if they have changed the rules now regarding when you can start the discounts, maybe Obi knows? I cant comment on the other airline as I have only flown with Virgin and BA.

I am already a Frequest Flyer Club member, I am not sure if the rules have changed, I was given the 10% discount in a quote last week.

I do like to fly with Virgin but I would take AKL over Pop anyday
