Plan on doing a disney cruise for part of my honeymoon in June of 2004. I was on the disney website trying to get an approximate idea of what it may cost and noticed you could only get quotes through the end of 2003. When will they start accepting reservations for 2004. I want to make them as soon as possible to take advantage of early booking savings and to make sure I get what I want.

Also, will probably get a cat 6 or cat 7. I am a newbie to the whole cruise thing, so can someone please explain what the difference is between these. Also, links to any pictures would also be great. TIA!!

I was told by Dreams Unlimited that it would probably be the middle of May, or toward the end. We are waiting for that also to book 2004.:smooth:

The difference between a Cat 7 and Cat 6 is the Veranda. With a Cat 7, the Veranda is fully enclosed in metal and has a port hole sized opening. The Veranda has built in benches and is decorated in a nautical theme. It provides significantly more privacy than a standard veranda, which has been described as a benefit in trip reports of others on their honeymoon. ;)

A Cat 6 has an open veranda with most of them having a plexiglas panel from the railing to the floor. The Cat 6 cabins that are located to the aft of the Navigator Verandas have a metal panel from the railing to the floor and some have additional space because of the curve of the ship.

A very good site with pictures of the verandas and much more is at Barb and Tony's Website: Platinum Castaway Club Site

It's called the Platinum Castaway Club because they take so many Disney cruises, 19 so far.

For a good estimate of what it will probably cost in 2004, I'd recommend that you check quotes on the DCL system for the same time periods in 2002 and also 2003. That's one of the busiest times of the year and has many families that can't take their children out of school during other periods, so it's also one of the most expensive times to sail.
