Booking Food Before Hotel/Tickets?

So, I'm honeymooning at Disney in September. I can book our dining starting in late March. Is it going to cause any issues if I make dining reservations well before having my hotel booked and park tickets purchased? I don't know how things work with the new MagicBand system, and want to hold off on booking my hotel and purchasing tickets until the traditional Fall discounts come out in April. Of course, we plan on staying in a Royal Room at POR so I probably don't qualify for any of those discounts anyway!

First off, congrats on your upcoming wedding and awesome honeymoon destination! :bride: There is no problem - you do not need a room reservation to book ADRs. We have booked before having our resort reservation planned, and many stay off site and still book dining reservations. The only disadvantage you will have is that w/o a room reservation you cannot book 180+10, which means being able to book for your whole week at 180 days, rather than having to do it one day at a time. It is obviously easier to do in one day, and you can then try for harder ones first, like Be Our Guest or Ohana, that you might want later in the week, before others scoop them up.

You could book the room you want for now, and just put down $200, and then cancel or modify if specials come out that apply - it's refundable, so no penalty, and deposit will move w/your room if you switch. This way, you can make your week of ADRs at one time, and book in whatever order you choose, and they will not be affected if you cancel and rebook the room, so win-win.

There is no reason why you cannot book your meals before yuou book your resort, and I have done that on occasion. The best reason to have your resort booked is as Cassie58 suggested, you can book the +10, which can be very helpful if you have your heart set on a specific restaurant on a specific day. Some meals are difficult to book, so this is a benefit, IMO. You can move your resort to a different one and the deposit will travel with the reservation, and your meals are safely left in place.

I booked several of our TS at 180 over the course of a few days, before hotel...which I did yesterday! It's no problem because off-site and locals have that option, too.

BOG
'Ohana
CRT ---------are just 3 examples of benefitting from the +10
I found TS in DHS to be slim pickings, too. I've tried to move our late lunch up every day since making an ADR for Sci-Fi!

Anyone can book ADR's 180 days out.
It won't effect anything.
BTW most of the time POR-RR ARE included in discounts.
I staed at POR-RR in September 2016 and got free dining.
