Booking first or second week of December 2014

Hi, I'm new to the board and to DVC ownership. I've read that the first 2 weeks in December are the most popular times to use DVC points and I guess I'd like to know how hard is it to get those weeks, if you book 11 months out at your home resort. Do you need to walk, or does trying to get them as soon as your dates become available usually suffice? VGF is our home resort, and we'd be booking a studio (we tend to be 2 adults + 1 young child)

I have gone every year since '93 during the 2nd week of Dec. Never have walked a reservation. I book our home resort right at the 11 months widow and 95% of the time I change resorts at 7 months.

We have owned for 4 years now and have always booked BLT standard right at 11 months with no problem. Even for F&W. We usually move at 7 months too.

For the second week in December, I book VWL and BWV on alternative years. I have not had any problems, have been a member for 10 years.

I will try to add 2 nights in VGF studio for next year, I bought so I could book those 2 nights at 11 months. We'll see....best wishes to you.

happy to hear there is a chance for other resorts. I just placed an offer on an SSR contract but i know my wife would want to try and do Wilderness one december for the decorations...here's hoping!
