Hi All,

I be in Disneyland Nov 5 -8th and would like to book a dessert box package for Fantasmic and a WOC dining package, but the shedule for those days is not on the Disneyland site yet. Can I still do it? I'm afriad they will fill up before the schedule is done.

Thanks

You cannot do either reservation until 30 days in advance, and by then you will know the schedule. :teacher:

OK great. Do they reserve tables just for WOC diners, or is there a chance that Ariels or the WCT might be all booked when I call?

WoC package reservations are actually done 60 days in advance, as long as the booking period is open - sometimes it doesn't open that early.

At least that's what a CM told me last week.

I currently have WoC reservations for November 1 and November 4, both booked without any problems on September 1 and September 4.

I thought it was 30 days out too. But when I called on August 30 to book our Ariel's Grotto reservation the CM on the phone asked me if it was for the Princess meal or for the WoC package. Picture me going :scared1: on the phone. When I asked her: "I thought WoC was 30 days out?" she explained what I wrote in the first sentence.

I did check back on the November 1 reservation when I called to do the second one, and it was in the system. So doesn't look like it was a fluke. :confused3

It's the WOC picnic meals that are done 30 days out, like the PP's said, the actual dining packages are 60 days like any normal PS so long as they have the restaurants open to book. For me that took until somewhere closer to 35 days because they hadn't released the restaurant over to booking yet.

And the Fantasmic seating is 30 days out as well. I was so excited to call and book for that.

Thanks ladies for the clarification on WOC meals. :) When I booked ours this summer it was 60 days. But I have read from others they reduced it to 30 days. Perhaps there was confusion with preferred dining and picnics? :confused3

I agree, probably confusion between dining package and picnic meal.

Probably that happened because the restaurants didn't open for bookings for September and October forever.

Hey, I'm not sure what dining packages you're referring to? Where can I look this stuff up? Also, what character meals do you recommend at Disney Land? I've done most of them at WDW but it would be nice to do one or to at DL!

There's the World of Color superthread on here which has a lot of info.

Here's the link to the Disneyland site info, they pretty much sum everything up regarding the dining package: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneys-california-adventure/world-of-color/dining/

There's only five character meals at Disneyland:
Ariel's Grotto - Princess Lunch and Breakfast - in California Adventure
Chip and Dale's Critter Breakfast - Grand Californian Hotel
Goofy's Kitchen - Disneyland Hotel (similar to Chef Mickey at WDW I'm told)
Surf's Up with Mickey - Paradise Pier Hotel
Breakfast with Minnie and Friends - Disneyland Park (supposedly comparable to Crystal Palace at WDW)

It's really hard to give a recommendation without more info about what you're looking for. Are you travelling solo, an all adult group or with kids? If so, what characters do the kids like?

In general I say Goofy's when I am asked about my favorite. But that's not what I'd recommend for a couple celebrating their tenth anniversary. ;)

thanks for your help! it's just me and my friend Andy, we're both in our early 20s but totally LOVE Disney. I went to WDW on spring break last march and felt like a kid, I was so excited for all the character meals! (Princess dinner at Akershus, breakfast at Crystal Palace, and I ate in Cinderella's Castle our last night.. wow, that was amazing!) the only bad experience I had was Cinderella's dinner at 1900 Park Fare where we ran into a very rude Prince Charming!

I've only ever eaten in the Bayou restaurant at DL which was a cool atmosphere but I didn't like my mushroom couscous haha!

There's a character meal thread somewhere... let me check if I find the links.

Well, your description does sound a lot like me, so you may be another fan of Goofy's soon.

Surf's Up is the only breakfast where you can meet Mickey and Stitch and the only one where Daisy shows up from time to time. It's Hawaiian themed, used to be Lilo and Stitch's Ohana breakfast. Doesn't have many characters (we normally see four plus whoever is at the photo stop), but food is quite good.

Critter Breakfast has the "woodsy" characters. All fur. ;) Chip, Dale, Meeko, Terk, the bears from Brother Bear and the likes. You can order from the menue there, don't have to order buffet. Buffet section is a bit limited, but still good.

Ariel's has princesses as the name obviously says.

Minnie's is the only place that has Winnie the Pooh characters at Character Meals. We've also seen Minnie, Goofy's son Max, Chip and Dale, Rafiki, Fairy Godmother... I know I am forgetting someone, but right now I am blanking.
Food wise I'd classify this as the worst meal. Basic cafeteria style food, but I am told the omelettes made to order are good.

Goofy's. Large buffet, dessert section is to die for. Usually has around 6 characters. Goofy, Chip, Dale and Pluto are regulars. You'll normally see two female characters - sometimes two princesses, sometimes one princess along with Minnie or Alice. We've also seen Aladdin, Baloo and Gepetto among others.
