booking early for 2012

I am goin with wife and 2 kids (4 & 8) in June 2012. Looking to do it all on as low a budget as possible so we have more spending money

By the looks of things i think the best bet will be Kyriad Hotel. We will be arriving monday and returning Sunday so 6nights/7days

So any tips on park tickets would be welcome. I am a bit confused by all the talk about shares and annual passes and when these can be bought in advance etc and which tickets would be right for us. We will be spending all 7 days in the park area except for one day trip into paris itself.

have you already decided on 6 nights and 7 days? Its just that, although I know there are folk who spend that long at DLP on a first trip, a lot of people don't. If you're not going at a very busy time you will probably find a shorter holiday at DLP would still let you enjoy everything, with time to spare to do your favourites all over again .

Annual passes are good if you are going to be needing a park ticket for 3 days or more, thats usually the break-even point for annual passes over park hopper tickets, plus of course you get discounts on food and souvenirs etc with your annual pass. If you bought shares and joined the shareholders club, you'd also get 15% discount on buying each annual pass too (you don't get shareholders discount multiple-day park hopper tickets).

Yeh already decided on mon-sun. One of the days at leats will be spent in Paris itself though and we maybe wouldnt arrive until late afternoon/early evening on the Monday. Will be spending 4 days minimum in the park itself.

So whats the cost with the shares option and how does it all work ? Obviously price goes up and down but just generally how far in advance would we have to buy shares so that we could receive the 15% off the annual pass ?

I looked at the CE multisave site but couldnt work out which annual pass would suit us and also what the actual price was. We would have an 8 & 4 year old so that would mean we would have to purchase 4 annual passes ? Also.........i'm going on a bit now....... but.........could we do the annual pass sponsor if someone was going at same time and also get the shareholders discount ?

Lots of questions i know but a penny saved is a penny spent on other things on holiday

If you use the shareholders discount you cannot combine it with sponsorship discount.

If you buy the shares I would look at buying them around the Feb/March time that way it will give you time to join the club etc.

I think you either buy the AP's when you get there or get them from CE Multivantages (if they are still doing the offer) close to when you go as they are active from when they send it to you.

Would we need an annual pass for all 4 of us and are they same price for adults as children i think i read ?

On another note.

We are going for a day trip into Paris, has anyone any tips on how to get their and how long etc ?

At present all the CE Multiavantages and Paris Billets offers are finished.
Wether they will come back later on this year or even next year no ones knows so you'll have to wait and see for them

Buying a pass at a normal rate -
Depending on what type of pass you want and your dates because of blackout periods you can get one starting at 99€ (Classic) going right up to the 199€(Dream)
These prices will increase next April and there might be another AP brought in which would be a Superdream pass and therefore more expensive.

Adult and Children prices are the same and unless there is an Adult pass=Childs pass (under the age of 7) offer again you'd need 4 of them.

Going into Paris is really easy, you go direct from the RER station at the gates of DLP and it takes 35-40 minutes into central Paris.
If you are just going for the one day you can get a Mobilis pass zones 1-5 which covers all your transport to and around Paris and costs 14€ per person

Just thought I'd mention that you'll most probably want to do EMH (Extra Magic Hours) each morning with the ages of your kids. You can only do this if you either stay on site or have an Annual Pass - I think it needs to be certain one, not sure which.

I found EMH fantastic for my ds (6) as we managed to do his favourites in Fantasyland and Discoveryland several times over before breakfast. It gets so busy later in the day.

To get EMH it needs to be the Dream Pass if you are not staying on site in one of the disney hotels.

You will need either a pass or tickets for each person but could get discounts by just having one AP between you (but the whole family wont be able to go in for EMH which will be worth doing with the ages of your children)
Its worth looking into what each one offers to see if its worth paying for the dream pass and also check the blackout days for the others

Thanks guys. Well the classic is a lot cheaper but the last 2 days we are their would be blockout days so not really an option as the last days shold be just pure disney in my opinion . The EMH sounds brilliant and although a little extra, the dream pass sounds like it will be great value also with all the benefits and discounts on site. So, when do prices for 2012 get released ?

Going to book flights ASAP as at the moment i see flights for under £400 for all of us including baggage allowance so want to snap these up !

Decided definitely to go for hotel Kyriad as all reviews are good and only 8 mins by shuttle. Not sure what times the shuttles start leaving at so that we could capitalise on EMH, anyone know ?

the associated hotels shuttle (which serves the Kyriad) starts running at 6am and runs every 20 minutes throughout the day and evening, every day.

Thinking about the Buffalo Bill show but our son who's going to be 8 has ADHD and ADD and ODD, so he can sometimes have a very short attention span and start playing up to the point we may have to leave. Anyone with similar situation able to put my mind at rest that it wont be money wasted or will their be pretty good action from start to finish and enough to keep his mind occupied ?
