Booking DLP - with Disney direct or an agent?

What do others do or recommend?

Haven't been to DLP for 20 years so no idea what it's like these days.

Am totally up to speed with how the WDW specialist travel agents work, and how they can still get you discounts and promotions like free dining after you book, but it appears DLP is very different?

Should we book now? Wait? Go through a travel agent? Can we swap if a better offer becomes available?

Thinking of travelling in September.
