I saw on the WDW website that you can now book rooms and tickets for April of next year. I called DCL today to book a land/sea trip that included a stay at WDW before our cruise. She told me that they cannot book the WDW portion yet and that it would be about another month or two before they could do it. I told her I could book it online at the WDW website and she said they can't book it together with the cruise yet. I asked her what the difference between booking with the cruise line and booking the WDW stay on my own is and she said that the only difference is that it wouldn't be one whole package (whatever that means). So my question is...does anybody know why we should wait and book it through Disney Cruise Line, or should I just go on and make a separate reservation for the WDW stay? I am so confused o_O

Make a separate reservation. That way, if any specials come out you will be able to apply them to your separate reservation. Booking them together just makes it more complicated to make any changes.

Most people book them separately. In fact, for several years it wasn't possible to book land&sea together. DCL added that option back maybe a couple of years ago, but I think it still has some limitations (mainly length of stay). So it's just easier to do them separately anyway.

Enjoy your vacation!

Make the reservation for WDW separately. There is little benefit to having one package -- there is nothing in the "package" that you can't book if you have a separate reservation for your WDW stay and Cruise. The one item they would include in your package that you might forget about booking if you have separate reservations is transportation from WDW to the port and then back after the cruise to the airport/WDW. This is not a free service and you do need to make a reservation for it. ($35 per person each way, you would add it to your cruise reservation if you want to use the DCL Bus to/from the port. But there are other transportation options from WDW that you may want to consider depending on the size of the group and the time you want to arrive at the port -- private car service, rental.)

We just booked ours separately because there was no real benefit to booking together that we could see, and that way we could cancel one if we had a change in plans without possibly affecting the other.

I just booked our's for March. I've never done them together with the cruise. We have a res for before and after the cruise. I would suggest... if you are going to do park tickets... do all the park tickets in the first reservation so you get the benefit of the more days the less money and if you are doing a night when you get back...on a room res. I always do the dining plan too. With it separate, if they release a free dining package it is easier to have it changed.

Agree, book separately! And remember to book transportation from resort to port (there is a fee but worth it for the convenience)!
