 Finally we have decided which resort we want to stay at (POR), and after consulting the map, exactly which building we'd like to stay in.
My question is, if I decide to book online through the Disney.co.uk site, will I get an option of requesting this building (plus the need for a wheelchair accessible room)? I got so far with the booking process, but then it came to the payment page, I don't want to book online and then have to telephone anyway, to make these requests, I may as well phone them in the first place.

Sorry I can't thelp with your question, but just thought that if you tried dreamsunlimited on this site they will email you with what you need and it maybe cheaper booking through the US than UK.

Hi,

I booked online with Disney UK and got to the request section and I asked for a room on the 2nd floor, although they can't guarantee it they will try but they don't pull the file out until 3 days before and that's when they try to implement the requests.

I'm sure you can add in any other requests so it should be no problem.

Good luck :thumbsup2

Dont really think it matters who you book with if you fax them 3 days before you are due to arrive with your request they should sort you out. We went to POR last year booked through virgin, we faxed 3 days prior to arrival and got the exact room we requested.

By the way - you will love it, its absolutley fabulous

What to do depends on what you mean by wheelchair accessible.
If you just need a first floor room, that is not a difficult request to grant and they can do that without much problem, even if you make the request at the time you check in.

If you actually need a fully wheelchair accessible room with a roll in shower, then you need to make your request as soon as possible - like at the time you make the reservation. There are limited numbers of the rooms with roll in showers, so when someone says they need one of those, the room is actually supposed to be blocked off specifically for you and the room is guaranteed, not just a request.
I don't know if you can make that request online; when making the reservation, the reservations CM actually calls the Special Reservations ddepartment to make sure one is available for the dates you need.

If you go to the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there is a section about rooms that talks about the different types of handicapped accessible rooms.
