booking dinner with Shamu?

First Universal/DC/ seaworld/ trip have always done just Disney. Loving how we don't have to book every single moment of our trip except for our Discovery Cove day! We really want to dine with Shamu but not sure which day of our trip will want to do SeaWorld if I wait until we get there will it ruin any chances of getting a reservation or should I just bite the bullet and book and plan that as our SeaWorld day? If it help we will be there 8/20- 8/27

The general crowd calendar for Orlando starts to dip down a little as August nears its end, but there is still some risk that you may be shut out, as it is a once a day thing. Also, I have read on these boards that seating is done by date of reservation, not the order that you show up on-site. I am a book early person and have always had a great table, even though I am somewhat far back in line during the cattle call. I am not sure there are bad seats, but the tables we have had right on the glass have been superb. It may just be lucky, I am sure one of the experts will chime in for sure. The Dine with Shamu FAQ sticky is a great place for info as well.
