Hi, we haven’t been to DL since before the pandemic, so I need a bit of help please. How far in advance do I need to book parks for our trip and how do I do that. Do I ring and book our tickets and parks or can I do it online? Thank you for any help.

To piggyback on this how far in advance does one NEED to book their reservation? Can one wait until a week or two before? Is there a risk of days being sold out months in advance?

You can take a look at the booking calendars to get a sense. Right now for park-hopper tickets, every day from January 1 on is available. But for one-park tickets, January 2 is DCA only, and January 7 is unavailable.

There is always a risk, though, that you will be shut out if you wait too long. And some days may be popular for reasons unknown to the wider population, like Dapper Day, Gay Days, or Star Wars Day.

I'd recommend booking at around the 30 day mark. Although the system goes out 120 days.

You can ONLY do it online. You can't call them up and book, really, unless you want a whole room and ticket package (which I don't recommend...book those things separately)

I recommend starting by downloading the Disneyland app and going through the process there. It does kick you out to a browser to purchase tickets and reserve park days, but you will need the app anyway, so start there.

You will have no problem booking days if you have park hoppers. They allocate more reservations to PH tickets than one park tickets. I recommend the PH.

Also, if you book a Disney resort, you have a separate bucket for park reservations that functions essentially as a guarantee. You will have absolutely NO problem booking days even the day before you go or the day of.

You can book 120 days in adance. It's very easy to do, just follow the link on the Disney website.

I wouldn't wait to book days if you already know when you want to go, because the reservations might fill up. You can always change them if you need to.

Are you talking about purchasing tickets? Or making park reservations? Because it used to be that you just buy tickets. But now you need to get the tickets and then also reserve which day/park you want to visit.

For multi-day tickets, we purchase ours months in advance from Getaway Today because there is usually some kind of deal going on.

Then, once the calendar opens up for the days I know we want to be there - I got onto the Disneyland website to make park reservations.

You can easily change bookings so don’t wait if you have dates in mind. That said, from what I’ve seen non magic key reservations are often open and easy to get
