Is there any thread that someone can point me to with regards to booking cruises with DVC points? One specific question I have is - can you book one passenger with points and the other passenger with points?

You have to have eligible points to do it but if you do, there are details on the website.

While I have not done it, people has said that you can book passabgers using points for one and cash for the other.

The most important thing to remember is that if you book with points and then have to cancel for whatever reason, the points that come back cannot be used to book normal DVC resort reservations. They can be used only for hotels (Disney and otherwise), cruises, and other non-DVC uses.

As Sandi says, details are on the member website.

Yes, you can. With the exception of the DVC Member Cruises, you have to use points for one passenger when booking through DVC. The remaining passengers can be either points or cash. If you have more than 3 people in the stateroom, you can use points for that 3rd person as the point requirements for that person is much lower than for the first 2.

If a cruise booked with points is more than a year out, how does point expiration work if the cruise is cancelled?

You can’t book a cruise with points that would be expired when the cruise happens.

But, points traded for cruises turn into reservation points and expire at the end of the UY of the cruise. They can no longer be used for DVC rooms or banked

Now, how they handle things if the cruise is canceled based on weather, honestly I don’t know but I always recommend that one has travel insurance when doing a cruise that should help.

Interesting. My points are not eligible for cruises (not that I would anyway), but I was curious.

We were booked on the 10/11 Disney Wish cruise that was cancelled due to Hurricane Milton and DVC returned our points as vacation points (aka no restrictions) without us even asking. We also have the annual policy for DVC Members available from Travelex.
