booking beach club at 7 months out

Hi we are dvc members. My home resort is boardwalk resort. We wanted to stay at the beach club resort for the first week of october 2012. I believe i can book that at 7 months.
Can you tell me what are my chances of getting the beach club resort at 7 months out. Thank you

Very little chance up front. However, from my experience this year (and depending on the length of your stay), you should get on the wait list immediately, and you'll have a pretty good chance of getting it. Also, if part of your stay is available at BC (especially if coincides with the beginning or end of your trip), book that part and wait list the rest. The fewer number of days wait listed also increases your chances.

During Food & Wine is the toughest time. I own at BCV and have had to waitlist even before the 7 month window. One bedrooms are easiest to get.

No you would not be able to get on the waitlist until the 7 month mark.

You may want to book your home resort to guarantee a place to stay then try to switch over at 7 months.

you'd have to wait till 7 months out, at which point you would likely be behind a number of BCV owners who waited too long to book. but until 7 months out, only BCV owners have any access to booking or waitlisting BCV.

i would agree that - since you own at BWV - you should book BWV the day the 11 month window opens, ideally first thing in the morning.

it's not impossible that something would open up at BCV in october, but make sure you have something to fall back on.

Agree with previous posters book BWV at 11 months and then call at 7 months to see if BCV s are available.

We were able to switch our 2br this October at 7 months from VWL to BCV......we actually wanted BWV but no 2nd villas were available in any view......so you never know

I waitlisted for BCV during October a few years ago, the waitlist came through long before our trip. It wasn't too big of an issue for us. It can happen!

Before we bought I would read that we would never be able to get BCV during F&W or it would next to never. 3 years in a row, calling exactly at the 7 month on the day first thing when they open, we have gotten a studio at BCV for the opening of F&W, MNSSHP and my birthday.

Everyone says no it won't happen but we have yet to have a problem. We have also gotten BCV at 7 months every time we have wanted to stay without adjusting our planned travel dates.

Just call first thing on the 7 month day.

It depends, you never know. We booked late and were able to get the weekend at beach club in a studio for a weekend during food and wine.

its always worth a try and you can always be put on the wait list.

I think your best chance is over a weekend, since the points are still a bit higher than. Good luck...remember to call on the first day that you can.

Not sure what size room you were hoping for, but one bedrooms are the easiest to get it seems.

I've had luck the last two years w/ 2-BR's. Last year second week of November, this year 10/31.
