Booking Aulani in July ?

Is Aulani difficult to book a 2 bedroom in July at the 7 month window (for 2016)?

We would love to hear any experience that you might have in this regard.

We were able to book 2 Island View 2 bedroom villas for July 2014 at about 6 months. If you are opting for a pool or ocean view, your chances are greater it will be available.

I would think that it would be challenging. Hopefully someone who has done it will chime in. I have a friend who has booked Aulani at the 7 month date in June and has to be flexible with arrival dates and has to do it right when the window opens. We are Aulani owners and were going back and forth trying to decide between a last week of July trip vs Thanksgiving and let our 11 month window advantage slip by. Once we got into the 7 month window there were days that were not available (would have had to book another room type and waitlist) so it helped make our decision to go at Thanksgiving which I am actually really looking forward to (except the price of airfare that week). Granted I did not look right on the day the 7 month window opened so I don't know how long it took to book up. My guess is that if you are right on it when the window opens and are flexible as to room types and maybe start dates it will be challenging but doable.

Patterns for July at Aulani 7 months out were about the same in both 2014 and 2015. If you were looking for early July including July 4 time, you could have serious issues finding openings. After July 4, standard view was mostly gone before 7 months out, ocean view 2 BRs were open, and with pool view and island garden 2BRs, though often open, one or the other was missing one to two days in any given 7 day period and there was no rhyme nor reason as to which one in any given period.

Thank you for your perspective! Do you have a feel if the same pattern holds true for 1 bedrooms? We are considering going mid- to late (not July 4th time frame).

Close to the same with standard usually having days missing and pool or island garden, one or the other, sometimes missing some days. Ocean View 1BRs were open at 7 months out the entire month including early July and July 4.

We booked a 1 BR at 7 months in January for our August trip. I really wanted Island view but could only get Ocean View without doing a waitlist. Each day I checked that first day was gone and I had to wait until the next day. It got very frustrating - seems people were booking a day or two earlier than their actual arrival and then cancelling that day as they added on at the other end. It got too stressful so I think DH told me to just book Ocean View to get me to stop whining
